Captain Richard Gillette
Captain Richard grew up on the water and has years of experience sailing on large sailboats. He has made multiple ocean passages, captained several charter boats, taught sailing, and trained crew. Last year, he won the Bay Area Jefferson Award for his work offering sailing expeditions to thousands of local children at little to no cost. Captain Richard is passionate about sailing, has a wealth of local nautical knowledge, and a plethora of good stories to share. |
Captain James Hancock
Sailing since 1973, Jim’s experience includes racing, cruising, teaching and writing about sailing. His most notable accomplishment is a six-year voyage from San Francisco to Australia. Jim has over 30,000 total sea miles logged. His writing on sailing has been published in Sail Magazine, Latitude 38 and Navigator. |
Captain Robert McCreary
Captain Robert McCreary is a U.S. Coast Guard 100-ton Master, skippering sail and commercial power boats professionally on San Francisco Bay since 1986. He is a published sailing educator, race tactician, and former American Sailing Association National Education Coordinator, administering standards and instructor training to more than 300 charter yacht schools and 3500 instructors worldwide. Robert operates Advanced Maritime Education, a San Francisco Bay-based captain’s licensing school. |
